1. Our Philosophy

Gigzilla is built on trust and reliability. Our community thrives when artists, venues, and planners honor their commitments. This policy is designed to encourage professional behavior, protect all parties from last-minute changes, and reward dependable users.

2. The Reliability Score

Every user on Gigzilla has a Reliability Score, starting at 100%. This score is a live indicator of your dependability on the platform, calculated based on your activity over the last 12 months.

Gaining Points: You gain +2 points for every gig you successfully complete.
Losing Points: Your score decreases when you cancel a confirmed booking or fail to show up. The penalty is higher for cancellations made closer to the event date.

Your score is visible on your public profile, helping others make informed booking decisions.

3. Cancellation Consequences

When you cancel a confirmed booking, the following actions are triggered automatically:

Reliability Score Penalty: Your score will be reduced. The severity of the penalty depends on how much notice you give and how long the gig was booked (short-notice cancellations on recently booked gigs are penalized more heavily).
Profile Banner: A temporary banner may be placed on your profile indicating a recent cancellation (e.g., "Cancelled a gig with less than 48 hours notice"). This provides transparency to the community.
No Financial Penalties: Gigzilla's policy focuses on reputation and platform access, not financial penalties between users for cancellations.

4. Restrictions & Enforcement

To protect the community, automated restrictions are applied to users with low Reliability Scores.

Watchlist (70-89%): Your account is monitored. Repeated negative actions will lead to further restrictions.
At Risk (<70%): You will be unable to apply for "Lightning Slots" (last-minute gigs). Your visibility in search results may also be reduced.
Severe Cases: In cases of repeated no-shows or severe reliability issues, Gigzilla reserves the right to suspend your ability to apply for gigs, post new gigs, or, in extreme cases, suspend your account entirely.

5. The No-Show Policy

A "no-show" (failing to appear for a confirmed gig without formally cancelling through the platform) is the most serious violation of our policy and results in the highest penalty to your Reliability Score and a high-severity banner on your profile.

6. Rewards for Reliability

We believe in rewarding good behavior. Consistently reliable users will earn badges on their profile, such as "10 Gigs Completed" or "Highly Reliable," which increases their visibility and trustworthiness on the platform.
